Partners & DonorsHow We Use Donations
We treat every donation with care, integrity, and respect — because we know it represents belief in our shared future.
Donor-Directed Giving
Donors & Supporters can choose to give toward specific causes, projects or initiatives close to their hearts — like girls' education, elderly care, reforestation, or smallholder farming. These contributions are carefully managed according to the donor's wishes, with regular updates provided on their impact.
General Community Giving
Unrestricted gifts allow us to respond to the community's most urgent and strategic needs. These priorities are chosen by the people themselves, guided by long-term vision, local knowledge, and the goal of a stronger, more self-reliant Sironko.
Our Holistic Approach
We believe in addressing community challenges through integrated, sustainable solutions that create lasting impact.
Education & Innovation Hub
We prioritize education as the foundation for sustainable development. Through our scholarship programs, educational infrastructure support, and innovation initiatives, we're building the capacity for local solutions to local challenges.
Community Wellbeing
Our health and community development programs work hand-in-hand to create healthier, more resilient communities. From healthcare access to social support systems, we're committed to improving quality of life.
Sustainable Development
Environmental sustainability and economic empowerment are crucial for long-term community success. We promote eco-friendly practices while creating opportunities for sustainable livelihoods.
Inclusive Growth
Through our focus on social justice, women's empowerment, and youth development, we ensure that no one is left behind in our community's journey toward progress.
Our programs, projects, and outreach initiatives are carefully designed to promote education, science, innovation, health, community development, economic empowerment, environmental sustainability, and social justice. These elements intertwine seamlessly for the benefit of Bamaena, as we implement and support a wide range of community-based projects and initiatives.

Scholarships & Awards Strategy 2026
Bamaena Community Foundation
Purpose
This strategy outlines how the Community Foundation will invest in education, leadership, and community impact from 2026. It brings all scholarships and awards under one clear, people-centred vision focused on opportunity and long-term community benefit.
Why This Matters
Education opens doors and strengthens communities. In the past year, the Foundation supported two students at key moments:
- One student training in healthcare as a theatre technician
- One student supported with A-level examination fees
These experiences showed that timely support can remove barriers and change lives. This strategy builds on that learning.
Our Commitment
The Foundation commits to:
- Reducing financial barriers to education
- Supporting talent in key fields
- Developing future community leaders
- Recognising leadership that strengthens unity
"Talent exists everywhere. Opportunity does not."
Scholarship Support
Support for students and professionals whose learning benefits the wider community.
Priority Fields
Science & Engineering · Law & Legal Training · Healthcare · IT & Digital Technologies
Types of Support
- University studies
- Vocational/technical training
- Professional development

"When we invest in people, we invest in lasting change."
Our Commitment to the SDGs
Building Bunashimolo's Future, One Goal at a Time
At Bamaena Community Foundation (BFF), we partner with local communities to build a future that's fair, resilient, and sustainable.
Our work across Bunashimolo, Bamaena, and Bushiende aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — connecting local action to global change.
Why the SDGs Matter to Us
The SDGs are a global blueprint. We asked a simple question:
Where can we make the biggest impact?
Together with our community, we chose the goals that reflect our strengths and needs — allowing us to:
- Focus our efforts
- Attract targeted funding
- Show measurable progress
Our Focus SDGs & Local Impact
Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10)
We ensure everyone — especially the marginalized — has equal access to resources, services, and opportunities.
Sustainable Communities (SDG 11)
We support safer, more inclusive neighborhoods through infrastructure, local leadership, and resilience planning.
No Poverty (SDG 1)
We provide targeted support to vulnerable groups and improve essential services in all three counties.
Good Health & Well-being (SDG 3)
- Mobile eye care with Glaucare
- Mental, dental, and maternal health services
- Fundraising for a community health center
Quality Education (SDG 4)
We run early learning programs, youth farming, and skills training for women — and are raising funds to build a kindergarten.

Community Voice and Feedback
Your voice matters. We want to hear your ideas, concerns, and questions. Here's how you can share feedback:
Together in Truth
At the Bamaena Community Foundation, transparency is not a requirement — it's a relationship. One built on truth, respect, and unity.
Guided by our Supervisory Board
Accountable to our elders
Led by the hopes and wisdom of our people
Exploratory Philanthropy: Investing in Innovation
We dedicate 10–15% of our grantmaking to experimental projects—supporting visionary partners who are testing new approaches to deep-rooted problems.
We take this investment seriously
While it may carry risk, it also opens doors to systemic breakthroughs and innovative solutions that can transform lives and systems.
A Dynamic Approach
System change is a journey, not a quick fix. That's why we combine strategic stability with adaptive thinking.
We regularly review progress with our partners, advisors, and Board—reflecting on lessons learned and adjusting course as needed. When we conclude work in a given area, we do so with care: consolidating gains, pivoting when necessary, and respectfully transitioning relationships.
Join Us in Making a Difference
Together, we can create lasting positive change in communities around Uganda.
